Border Status
Entry restricted for international travelers
Most travelers are not allowed to enter Tonga. Most commercial flights are suspended.
Entry restrictions do not apply to:
- Tongan citizens;
- Tongan Permanent residents;
- International travelers approved by the Ministry of Health.

Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results
Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 test and a medical report. The test must be taken a maximum of 3 days before arrival.

On Arrival
Mandatory quarantine required
All travelers, including Tongan nationals and residents returning from abroad, are required to quarantine for 7 days on arrival.
Essential staff who are returning and those that have recovered from COVID-19 will only undergo 3 days of quarantine and will be released if they return negative results from a COVID-19 PCR test.
