Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers are required to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in South Sudan.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 5.
- Travelers who have recovered from COVID 19 within the last 6 months.
- A Pcr Test Up To 72 hours Before Arrival
On Arrival
COVID-19 test may be required on arrival
Travelers who show symptoms of COVID-19 are required to take a Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival.
Mandatory quarantine for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers, arriving with proof of a negative COVID-19 test result but without proof of vaccination, are required to quarantine for 10 days on arrival at their own expense. Travelers can shorten the quarantine by taking a COVID-19 RT-PCR test on day 5 at their own expense and if the test is negative they can exit quarantine on day 7.
Travelers choosing not to be tested on or after day 5 of the quarantine, may exit the quarantine on day 10 unless exhibiting symptoms.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers with a valid vaccination certificate (completed at least 2 weeks before departure);
- Travelers with valid proof of recovery from COVID-19 (evidence of a positive PCR test result in the previous 6 months before departure to South Sudan).

Masks are mandatory in public transportations
Travelers are required to wear masks on public transportation and internal flights. Travelers are recommended to wear masks in public places.
