Description

Most travelers transiting through Korean airports (who do not pass through immigration) have no COVID-19 testing or quarantine requirement for stays less than 24 hours. However, transit travelers may need to undergo temperature checks or fill out health questionnaires.

Transit travelers will receive a temperature check on arrival in Korea. Symptomatic individuals will be subject to a COVID-19 test and hospitalization if found positive. Travelers who do not show symptoms and/or test negative may continue their journey.

Description

Travelers, including nationals, must have a printed negative COVID-19 NAAT (PCR, RT-PCR, LAMP, TMA, SDA, NEAR, and others) test result in English or Korean. The COVID-19 test must be taken a maximum of 2 days before the date of departure, and the result should be negative. Please check the source for more details.

Effective May 23, 2022 and onwards travelers can provide a supervised rapid antigen test result taken a maximum of 24 hours before departure. The test result must be in English or Korean and should be negative. Please check the source for more details.

Electronic results such as on mobile devices are not accepted.

More Details

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers under the age of 6, if accompanied by travelers with a valid negative COVID-19 NAAT test result;
  • Korean citizens who were previously infected with COVID-19 and have a positive COVID-19 PCR test result from a test taken between 10 and 40 days before departure;
  • Foreign nationals on a long-term stay who were previously infected with COVID-19 in South Korea traveling to South Korea within 10 to 40 days of the date when they tested positive for COVID-19. For proof of the previous infection in South Korea these travelers must be in possession of a “Notice of Quarantine” or “Confirmation of release from isolation of COVID-19 patients” document, and have either a residence card, overseas Korean resident card, permanent resident card or ID card of a diplomatic mission in South Korea;
  • Air travelers in transit;
  • Travelers who are granted an exemption and have the required proof;
  • South Korean nationals arriving from Ukraine.

Re-entry permit required for foreign long-term residents

Description

Registered foreign residents who have departed on or after April 1st, 2022, and intend to re-enter South Korea after spending more than 1 year abroad from the date of departure (2 years maximum) are required to obtain a multiple re-entry permit before departing for international travel from South Korea.

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers Diplomats (A-1), Government Officials (A-2), International Agreement (A-3), or Overseas Korean (F-4) status are not required to apply for a Re-Entry Permit;
  • Foreign residents who have departed on or after April 1st, 2022, and will be returning within the 1-year allowance (2 years for permanent residents);
  • Nationals of Suriname, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France, Finland, and Chile.

Mandatory proof of vaccination before exiting Pakistan

Most Pakistani travelers are not allowed to travel internationally unless they have proof of vaccination. Travelers over the age of 15 are required to be fully vaccinated to travel internationally.

Non-Pakistani passport holders are allowed to travel without proof of vaccination.

Pakistanis that entered Pakistan before October 1st, 2021, are allowed to travel internationally without proof of vaccination.

Pakistanis who are medically advised against COVID-19 vaccination and holding a certificate from a classified specialist Doctor are allowed to travel internationally without a vaccination certificate.

Description

Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test a maximum of 24 hours after arrival in South Korea.

Nationals of South Korea and travelers with Long-term visas can take their test free of charge at a community testing center.
