Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results

Description

All travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be taken from a medical center authorized by the health authorities in the country of departure a maximum of 48 hours before departure to Qatar.

Uploading the test result via electronic pre-registration form is not mandatory, but it helps accelerate entry into the country. Travelers who do not upload the test result online must present the original copy of the PCR test to the airlines to be able to board.

Presenting a pre-departure PCR test result is optional for fully vaccinated GCC residents and EU citizens and residents if arriving from non-red countries. However, travelers who choose not to present the pre-departure test will be required to take a rapid antigen test, at an authorized private clinic, up to 24 hours after arrival in Qatar.

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Fully vaccinated citizens and residents arriving from red countries;
  • Citizens and residents arriving from non-red countries;
  • Fully vaccinated GCC citizens/residents and EU citizens/residents arriving from non-red countries; carrying a negative COVID-19 PCR test result is optional for the fully vaccinated GCC citizens/residents and EU citizens/residents;
  • Travelers under the age of 12.

Mandatory proof of vaccination for Qatar

Description

Travelers who are fully vaccinated must present proof of being fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the Qatari Ministry of Public health and that 14 days have passed since they received the 2nd dose.

The full cycle of vaccination is valid for 9 months after 14 days have passed since the last dose. Travelers who have received a booster dose of a recognized vaccine will have their vaccine certificates valid for 12 months.

Travelers who received 1 dose of the Jansen vaccine will have their certificates valid for 9 months after 14 days have passed after receiving the 1st dose of the Jansen & Jansen COVID-19 vaccine.

Travelers who have received a booster dose of the Jansen vaccine will have their vaccine certificates valid for 12 months after 7 days have passed from receiving it.

Recovered travelers will have an immune status valid for 12 months from the date of infection. The positive test result should be from an official and verifiable laboratory.

Travelers unable to present a valid certificate may be required to comply with rules for unvaccinated travelers.

Travelers from GCC countries may use their country’s health app to prove their vaccination status. Travelers from EU countries may use the COVpass health app to prove their vaccination status. Please check the source for more details.

Vaccines approved in Qatar are Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), AstraZeneca (Coveshield/Oxford/Vaxzevria) or Jansen/Johnson & Johnson.

Sinopharm, Sinovac, Sputnik V, and Covaxin vaccines are conditionally approved. For travelers with these vaccines to be considered fully vaccinated, a Serology Antibody test with a positive result is mandatory before traveling to Qatar.

Travelers who have received a recognized conditionally approved vaccine will have their vaccine certificates valid for 6 months after 14-days have passed since receiving the 2nd dose or booster dose.

Travelers are required to have the vaccination certificate in Arabic or English language.

Travelers must complete a travel registration form at least 3 days before arrival in Qatar. Online pre-registration is optional for citizens and residents of Qatar.

This requirement does not apply to:

  • GCC citizens and residents who can present immunity certificates through BeAware Bahrain, Tawakkalna, Shlonik, Tarassud, Al Hosn or Ehteraz mobile application;

  • Citizens and residents from the EU countries who can present immunity certificates through the European pass app;

  • Citizens and residents from the United Kingdom who can present immunity certificates through the COVPass health app: NHS COVID Pass;

  • Travelers will be considered as immune who have taken a booster dose or second dose within the last 9 months and have recovered within the last 12 months;
