Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for unvaccinated travelers
Partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Panama.
Travelers arriving without a valid negative test result must take a COVID-19 rapid test at the airport on arrival, at their own cost. Some airports do not offer on-arrival testing, including Scarlett Martinez International Airport (RIH). Partially vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers arriving at Scarlett Martinez International Airport (RIH) must have a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Panama.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 17 if accompanied by an adult.
- A Pcr Test Up To 72 hours Before Arrival
- A Antigen Test Up To 72 hours Before Arrival
Mandatory health declaration form
All travelers are required to complete an Electronic Affidavit (sworn statement) before boarding their flight to Panama. After filling up the document, travelers will receive a QR code that must be shown on their smartphones.
Proof of minimum funds may be required
Travelers may be required to prove they have a minimum of 500 USD to enter Panama.
For Transit
No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for transit
Travelers with flight connections in Panama are exempt from the COVID-19 test requirement as long as they remain in the international departure area.
Travelers may need to present proof indicating they are allowed to enter their destination country.
On Arrival
Quarantine may be required for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers arriving without valid proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival are subject to testing on arrival. If tested positive, travelers will be required to quarantine for 14 days in a hotel at their own cost.
Health screening on arrival
Temperature screening is required for all travelers on arrival in Panama.
