Fully vaccinated travelers can enter Myanmar. Before traveling, please check the documentation, quarantine, and testing requirements.
Transit is restricted
Travelers cannot transit through Myanmar.

Proof of pre-departure COVID-19 test is not required
Travelers don’t need a COVID-19 test before traveling to Myanmar.
Mandatory proof of COVID-19 vaccination for Myanmar
Fully vaccinated travelers must have a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing a full vaccination course at least 14 days before arrival in Myanmar. The country name and dates of vaccination must be in English or Myanmar. Additionally, the particulars of the travelers, according to their passports, must also be in English or Myanmar.
Travelers must present a printed copy of the document to the respective airport health authorities.
Approved vaccines are CoronaVac, AstraZeneca, CoviShield, Pfizer BioNTech, Myancopharm, Janssen/Johnson&Johnson, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sputnik light, Covaxin, Covovax, CorBEvax, Nuvaxovid, and Sputnik V, Covilo, BIBP-CoN, Comirnaty, Vaxzevria, Spikevax, Convidecia.
This vaccination requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 12 who are traveling with fully vaccinated parents or guardians;
- Unvaccinated nationals of Myanmar entering by Relief flight.
Mandatory health insurance
Travelers must have medical health insurance with international coverage that covers COVID-19 before traveling to Myanmar from Myanma Insurance.
Travelers must present a printed copy of the document to the respective airport health authorities on arrival to Myanmar.
Diplomats, UN officials, and their families can submit health insurance from their respective countries.
This insurance requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Nationals of Myanmar.
On Arrival
Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival
Travelers must take a COVID-19 RDT antigen test on arrival in Myanmar at their own cost. Travelers may leave the airport after receiving negative COVID-19 test results from the respective health authorities.
This testing requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Unvaccinated nationals of Myanmar.
Quarantine may be required
Travelers who test positive for COVID-19 on arrival must quarantine in a hospital, treatment center, or hotel designated by the MOH as per health protocols. The quarantine requirement also applies to travelers who are symptomatic on arrival.
Travelers who tested negative on arrival test don’t need to quarantine on arrival in Myanmar. Travelers who develop signs and symptoms of COVID-19 during their stay in Myanmar must report to the respective health authorities.
Health screening on arrival
All travelers must undergo temperature screening on arrival in Myanmar.
