Before You Leave
Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers must have a valid negative COVID-19 RDT antigen test result. Travelers must take the test a maximum of 48 hours before arrival in Myanmar. The test certificate must be in English.
This testing requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 12.
- A Rapid Test (Professionally performed) Up To 48 hours Before Arrival
- An Antigen Test Up To 48 hours Before Arrival
Mandatory proof of vaccination for Myanmar
Fully vaccinated travelers are required to have a valid vaccination certificate showing they received a full course of vaccination at least 14 days before departure to Myanmar.
Approved vaccines are CoronaVac, AstraZeneca, CoviShield, Pfizer BioNTech, Myancopharm, Janssen/Johnson&Johnson, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sputnik, Covaxin, Covovax, CorBEvax, and Nuvaxovid.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 12 who are traveling with fully vaccinated parents.
Mandatory health insurance
Travelers are required to have printed proof of health insurance with Inbound Travel Accident Insurance Policy with COVID-19 coverage from Myanmar Insurance.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Nationals of Myanmar.
On Arrival
Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival
Travelers must take a COVID-19 RDT antigen test on arrival in Myanmar at their own cost.
Travelers may leave the airport after receiving negative COVID-19 test results from the respective health authorities.
Quarantine may be required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers who are unable to show either a vaccination certificate or proof of valid negative COVID-19 RDT antigen test result must quarantine for 5 days. Travelers will be tested for COVID-19 RDT antigen test on day 1 and RT-PCR test on day 5 during the quarantine period.
Travelers who test positive on their on-arrival COVID-19 RDT antigen test or who show COVID-19 symptoms are to be transferred to a designated hospital, treatment center, or hotel.
Health screening on arrival
Health screening is required for all travelers on arrival.
