Border Status
Travel is allowed with restrictions
Travelers are allowed to enter Malaysia. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.
Transit is allowed
Travelers may transit through the international terminals of Malaysian airports as long as they are not required to pass through immigration while in transit. The maximum transit time is 24 hours.

No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result before traveling to Malaysia.
Mandatory app for pre-departure form
Travelers are required to download the MySejahtera application before departure and create a registered profile with a QR code to be scanned on arrival.
Travelers must complete the pre-departure form under the ‘traveler’ icon inside the app.
Mandatory proof of vaccination for Malaysia
Fully vaccinated travelers are required to provide proof of vaccination to be exempt from quarantine.
Travelers aged 18 to 59 are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving 2 doses of the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, Novavax, or Sputnik V vaccines or 28 days after receiving 1 dose of the Johnson & Johnson, CanSino, or Sputnik Light vaccines.
Travelers aged 60 and above are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving 3 doses of the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, Novavax, or Sputnik V vaccines or 28 days after receiving 2 doses of Johnson & Johnson, CanSino, or Sputnik Light vaccines.
Travelers who received the Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccine are also required to receive a booster dose to be considered fully vaccinated. Travelers who received the Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccine and who do not have a booster dose are considered partially vaccinated and must follow the rules for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers.

Travelers departing from Canadian airports require proof of vaccination
All travelers departing from Canada via air, rail, or cruise ships need to be fully vaccinated. This requirement applies to all travelers aged 12 years plus 4 months and older. This requirement applies to international and domestic departures.
Fully vaccinated travelers must have received a full course of vaccination with an accepted vaccine. The accepted 2 dose vaccines are:
- AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (ChAdOx1-S, Vaxzevria, AZD1222);
- Bharat Biotech (Covaxin, BBV152 A, B, C);
- Medicago Covifenz;
- Novavax (NVX-COV2373, Nuvaxovid, Covovax);
- Moderna (mRNA-1273);
- Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty, tozinameran, BNT162b2);
- Sinopharm BIBP (BBIBP-CorV);
- Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc).
The accepted 1 dose vaccine is:
- Janssen/Johnson & Johnson.
Travelers that have received a combination of 2 accepted vaccines are considered fully vaccinated. Travelers must have received their last dose at least 14 days before arrival.
Travelers who fail to comply, refuse, or provide untruthful information on this measure, may be subject to a penalty or a fine.

On Arrival
No quarantine required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to quarantine on arrival in Malaysia.
