Proof of pre-departure COVID-19 test is not required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers don’t need a COVID-19 test before traveling to Kenya.
Mandatory proof of COVID-19 vaccination for Kenya
Travelers must have a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing proof of complete vaccination. Travelers must have the prescribed doses of a specific COVID-19 vaccine latest shot at least 14 days before arrival (not including the day of vaccination).
This vaccination requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 12.
For Transit
Proof of pre-departure COVID-19 test is not required for transit
Travelers don’t need a COVID-19 test before transiting through Kenya.
On Arrival
COVID-19 test may be required on arrival
Travelers arriving without a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate or a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test must take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test on arrival. Also, travelers with symptoms of COVID-19 on arrival must take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test. Travelers must take the rapid antigen test at their own cost of 30 USD.
Travelers who test COVID-19 positive must take a COVID-19 PCR test at their own cost of 50 USD.
This testing requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 12.
Quarantine may be required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers don’t need to quarantine on arrival in Kenya. However, symptomatic travelers who tested positive for COVID-19 on arrival test must self-quarantine as per the government guidelines.
This quarantine requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 12.
Passenger locator form may be required
On arrival in Kenya, travelers who show flu-like symptoms must complete the passenger locator form on the jitenge platform.
While There
Masks are mandatory in certain settings
Travelers must wear masks on personal service vehicles, aircraft, and in health centers, offices, supermarkets, markets, and places of worship.
