Entry restricted for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers are not allowed to enter Iraq.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 18;
- Travelers going to the Iraqi Kurdistan region;
- Travelers with a medical certificate of contraindication who cannot be vaccinated.

Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers going to Iraq must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result.
Travelers going to Baghdad (BGW) must have a negative COVID-19 test result issued a maximum of 72 hours before departure to Iraq. Test results must in Arabic or English.
Travelers going to Basra (BSR) must have a negative COVID-19 PCR or RT-PCR test result taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure to Iraq. Test results must in Arabic or English.
Travelers going to Najaf (NJF) must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure to Iraq. The test result must be in English and have a signature and a stamp from a laboratory.
Travelers going to Erbil (EBL) or Sulaymaniyah (ISU) must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from a test taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 13.
- A Pcr Test Up To 72 hours Before Departure
On Arrival
Quarantine may be required
Travelers may be required to quarantine on arrival in Iraq.
Health screening on arrival
Travelers are subject to medical screening and may be required to pay in cash for the COVID-19 test on arrival.
