Border Status
Entry restricted for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers are not allowed to enter Hong Kong SAR. Travelers holding a visa with a validity of fewer than 14 days will be denied entry. Â Entry restrictions do not apply to: -Fully vaccinated travelers; -Unvaccinated travelers under the age of 12 traveling with a fully vaccinated parent or guardian; -Partially vaccinated travelers aged 12-17 years who have received at least 1 dose of the Pfizer/Comirnaty vaccine a minimum of 14 days before arrival; -Travelers who have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 14 to 90 days before boarding for Hong Kong SAR.

Transit through Hong Kong International Airport is allowed with restrictions
Travelers can transit through Hong Kong International Airport.
Travelers starting their trip in mainland China are able to transit through Hong Kong International Airport. However, transit to destinations in mainland China remains unavailable at HKIA.
Travelers in transit must have an onward flight ticket or boarding pass that confirms departure a maximum of 24 hours after the scheduled arrival time in Hong Kong. Baggage must also be tagged through to the onward destination. Travelers must ensure in advance that they are able to enter the final destination.

Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results
Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR nucleic acid test result. Travelers must take a test a maximum of 48 hours before the scheduled departure time of the last flight to Hong Kong SAR.
Travelers who were infected with COVID-19 in the last 14 to 90 days before boarding for Hong Kong SAR and have recovered are required to have a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) test a maximum of 24 hours before the scheduled time of departure to Hong Kong SAR.

This testing requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 3.
- A Pcr Test Up To 48 hours Before Final Boarding
- A Nucleic Acid Test Up To 48 hours Before Final Boarding
Mandatory accommodation reservations for travelers
Travelers must have confirmation in English or Chinese of room reservation in a designated quarantine hotel (DQH) in Hong Kong SAR for a minimum of 3 nights.

Mandatory health declaration form
All travelers must complete a health declaration form 3 days before arrival in Hong Kong. After submitting the online form, the system will generate a QR code valid for 96 hours. Travelers must save the health declaration QR code and present it at check-in for airline verification before boarding a flight to Hong Kong. Travelers can present a health declaration QR code as a downloaded version, a screenshot, or a printout.
For Transit
No proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for transit
Travelers are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result to make a transit connection in Hong Kong SAR.
On Arrival
Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival
Travelers arriving via the Hong Kong International Airport must take a COVID-19 PCR test and a rapid antigen test (RAT) on arrival (Day 0). Travelers with a negative RAT result can proceed with immigration procedures and, upon the instruction of the staff on-site, be transferred by designated transport to the designated quarantine hotel for which they made the reservation to continue the compulsory quarantine until completion. Travelers will wait for the nucleic acid test result at the designated quarantine hotel. Travelers with a positive result will be transferred to the hospital for quarantine and treatment.
Mandatory 3-day quarantine and testing for travelers
Travelers must quarantine for 3 days at a Designated Quarantine Hotel (DQH) on arrival in Honk Kong. Travelers must take daily rapid antigen tests (RAT) during mandatory quarantine. Travelers must take a COVID-19 PCR-based nucleic acid test in the DQH on Day 2 after arrival in Hong Kong. Travelers with consecutively negative test results can complete quarantine on the morning of Day 3.
After that period, travelers must continue with medical surveillance at home or in other self-arranged accommodation for 4 nights. During the medical surveillance, travelers must take daily COVID-19 rapid antigen tests and nucleic acid tests on days 4 and 6. Travelers with consecutively negative test results can complete medical surveillance on the morning of Day 7. During that period of medical surveillance will get an amber code on their LeaveHomeSafe mobile app to restrict their movements.
A further 3 days of self-monitoring is also required. During this period of self-monitoring, travelers must take daily COVID-19 rapid antigen tests and nucleic acid tests on day 9.

Health screening on arrival
All travelers must pass temperature screening on arrival in Hong Kong. Travelers with a high temperature will undergo further checks.
