Only fully vaccinated travelers can enter Rapa Nui.
Transit is allowed
Travelers can transit through Chile by air as long as travelers don’t leave the international transit zone.
Before You Leave
Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results is required for unvaccinated travelers for Chile
Unvaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. Travelers must take the test a maximum of 48 hours before departure to Chile.
Travelers who have recovered from COVID-19 must take 2 types of COVID-19 test results. Travelers must take a COVID-19 PCR test a maximum of 48 hours before departure. Additionally, travelers must take a COVID-19 PCR test a maximum of 10 days and no more than 1 month before departure to Chile.
This testing requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 18.
- Travelers who are Chilean citizens and residents. However, authorities recommend that Chilean citizens and residents have a negative COVID-19 test result.
- A Pcr Test Up To 48 hours
Recommended health insurance for Chile
Travelers are recommended to have valid COVID-19 Health insurance before traveling to Chile.
This insurance recommendation doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 18;
- Travelers who are Chilean nationals and residents.
For Transit
Proof of pre-departure COVID-19 test is not required for transit
Travelers don’t need a COVID-19 test when transiting through Chile.
On Arrival
COVID-19 test may be required on arrival in Chile
Travelers may require to take a random COVID-19 test on arrival in Chile.
This testing requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 18.
Quarantine may be required in Chile
Travelers who test COVID-19 positive on arrival test must quarantine for 5 days in a sanitary residence. The exact requirements apply to travelers who refuse to take COVID-19 test on arrival in Chile.
This quarantine requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 18.
