Transit is allowed with restrictions
Travelers can transit through Burkina Faso.
Travelers in transit who are arriving without a COVID-19 PCR test result and the transit time is less than 48 hours must quarantine in a hotel while waiting for the next flight at their own expense. If the transit time is more than 48 hours, travelers must follow the country’s entry procedures.

Before You Leave
Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results is required for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid diagnostic test result. Travelers must take the test a maximum of 5 days before arrival.
This testing requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers aged 11 years and under.
- A Pcr Test Up To 5 days Before Arrival
- A Rapid Test (Professionally performed) Up To 5 days Before Arrival
On Arrival
COVID-19 test may be required on arrival
Travelers arriving without a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result or COVID-19 vaccination certificate or travelers with symptoms of COVID-19 must take COVID-19 (PCR and RDT) tests at their own cost on arrival in Burkina Faso.
Quarantine and testing may be required
Travelers with a positive COVID-19 RDT test on arrival must quarantine for 72 hours in a hotel at their own cost and wait for the PCR test result. Travelers who test COVID-19 PCR positive must quarantine in medical facilities. Travelers who test negative for a COVID-19 RDT test on arrival are recommended to take a PCR test on days 8 and 14 at their own cost.

All travelers must undergo temperature screening on arrival in Burkina Faso.
