Border Status
Travel is allowed with restrictions for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers who have only been in selected countries in the last 7 days before departure are allowed to enter Brunei.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers who are not fully vaccinated due to medical reasons and have a certificate of medical exemption for COVID-19 vaccination.
Transit is allowed for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are allowed to transit through Brunei by air.

No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required
Travelers are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to Brunei.
Mandatory proof of vaccination for Brunei
Fully vaccinated travelers must have received the full course of vaccination. The second dose of vaccine must have been taken a maximum of 3 months from arrival, or travelers must have been vaccinated with a booster shot.
Vaccines must be issued by a recognized health jurisdiction (preferably digital vaccination record) or the WHO International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow book). Applicants vaccinated in Brunei Darussalam must show proof of vaccination on the BruHealth app.
Approved vaccines are AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer, Sinopharm, and Sinovac.
Travelers under 18 who are not vaccinated will be treated as fully vaccinated if they are traveling with fully vaccinated guardians.
Mandatory arrival declaration form
All travelers are required to complete the arrival declaration form on the travel portal not more than 24 hours before departure to Brunei.
Mandatory health insurance before arrival
All travelers must provide proof of travel health insurance covering COVID-19-related costs (minimum coverage of BND $20,000) from their preferred insurance company before arrival in Brunei.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Brunei residents.
On Arrival
No quarantine required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to quarantine on arrival in Brunei.
Health pass may be required for public activity
Travelers may be required to download the BruHealth App for public activity. The management of premises or event organizers may ask travelers to scan the BruHealth QR code before entering the premises.
While There
Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers are required to wear masks in indoor public places. Travelers are recommended to wear masks in crowded places where social distancing can not be maintained.
