Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers must have proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR (nasopharyngeal) test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 5 days before arrival in the British Virgin Islands.

Mandatory pre-registration form for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers, including each child, are required to register on the BVI Gateway Portal and upload their relevant documents to obtain a travel certificate.
The application must be started no later than 48 hours and completed at least 24 hours prior to the intended flight to BVI.
All travelers can upload their necessary documents through the gateway portal, as well as pay the fee, which covers all airport and seaport administration fees, the arrival testing as well as the Day 4 PCR tests, the tracking App, and any monitoring devices or bracelets.
Approved travelers must present their BVI Gateway Traveler Authorisation Certificate along with their negative COVID-19 PCR test result, at the check-in counter prior to boarding the flight or ferry into the Territory.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers who are fully vaccinated;
- Fully vaccinated parents/guardians traveling with children aged 17 years and under.
Mandatory travel insurance
Most travelers are required to have valid health insurance during their whole stay that includes COVID-19 coverage.
This requirement does not apply to:
- BVI nationals and residents.
On Arrival
Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers are required to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR test on arrival.
At the end of the quarantine period, travelers will be required to take another COVID-19 PCR test. Once the result is negative, they will be able to move within the territory, without limitation.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 5.
Quarantine may be required for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated travelers are required to take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test on arrival and if tested positive will be required to quarantine for 5 days. On day-5 of the quarantine, travelers will be tested by the relevant authorized officer for COVID-19, and if tested negative will be allowed to move freely within the island.
