Travelers can enter Brazil. Before traveling, please check the documentation and/or testing requirements.
Transit is allowed
Travelers can transit through Brazil as long as they remain in the international airport area. Transit time should not exceed 24 hours.
If transit travelers exceed 24 hours in an international airport area, then travelers should follow the guidelines provided by the health official.
Before You Leave
Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results is not required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers don’t need a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to Brazil.
Mandatory proof of COVID-19 vaccination for Brazil
Fully vaccinated travelers must have printed or electronic proof of COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Travelers must show proof of the primary COVID-19 vaccination schedule (2 doses or a single dose, according to the immunization schedule). Travelers must complete the vaccination schedule 14 days before departure to Brazil.
The vaccination certificate must contain the trade name, or manufacturer’s name, the number of the lot of the applied dose, and the date of application.
The COVID-19 vaccination certificate must be in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
The Brazilian government currently accepts vaccines approved by the WHO, Anvisa, or the country’s authorities where the traveler was vaccinated. Vaccines accepted by Anvisa are Comirnaty (Pfizer/Wyeth), Coronavac (Butantan), Janssen Vaccine (Janssen-Cilag), Oxford/Covishield (Fiocruz e AstraZeneca), and Sputnik.
Vaccines accepted by WHO are AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine, Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, Sinopharm, Sinovac, COVAXIN, Covovax, Nuvaxovid, and CanSino.
This vaccination requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
- Travelers under the age of 12;
- Travelers with proof that they cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons;
- Humanitarian reasons.

On Arrival
Quarantine is not required
Travelers don’t need to quarantine on arrival in Brazil.
