Before You Leave
Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival. Travelers can instead take an approved COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken a maximum of 48 hours before arrival.
Home testing kits are not accepted.
Travelers who are unable to take a COVID test before arrival will be required to take a test on arrival at their own expense. Please contact your airline for details.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 5;
- Travelers with a valid vaccination certificate;
- Travelers with a valid proof of recovery certificate.

Recommended accommodation booking
Travelers are recommended to have proof of booking at a Gold Standard Certified Hotel or accommodation.
This recommendation does not apply to:
- QRPs;

- Citizens and permanent residents of Belize and long-stay non-nationals;
- Diplomats and military personnel;
- Airline crew and travelers in Belize for less than 24 hours.
Mandatory travel insurance
Travelers are required to purchase travel health insurance with COVID-19 coverage from a local insurance provider before traveling to Belize.
This requirement does not apply to:
- QRPs;
- Foreign homeowners;
- Citizens and permanent residents of Belize and long-stay non-nationals;
- Diplomats and military personnel;
- Airline crew and travelers in Belize for less than 24 hours.

On Arrival
COVID-19 test may be required on arrival
Unvaccinated travelers who arrive without a negative COVID-19 test result are required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival at their own expense.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 5.
Quarantine may be required for unvaccinated travelers
Unvaccinated travelers arriving without a negative COVID-19 test result are required to take a test on arrival. Travelers who test positive must quarantine at an approved quarantine hotel for at least 10 days at their own expense.
