Travel is allowed for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are allowed to enter Australia.
Transit is allowed with restrictions
Travelers are allowed to transit through Australia without an exemption if they are transiting for 72 hours or less. Travelers in transit through Australia for up to 72 hours must hold a transit visa, or be from an eligible country to transit without a visa (TWOV).
Unvaccinated travelers are not allowed to transit unless they have a medical contraindication to a COVID-19 vaccine or if they fall under an exempt category or hold an individual travel exemption.
Transit travelers are required to:
- Complete a travel declaration;
- Secure an onwards ticket on a red zone flight that departs Australia no more than 72 hours after initial entry;
- Follow the quarantine requirements in the state or territory that they arrive in. They may need to stay in hotel accommodation and may be asked to pay for their stay while awaiting their onward flight.

No proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results required
Travelers are not required to have a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to Australia.
Mandatory International Traveler Departure form before exiting Nepal
All travelers must have a printed copy of the International Traveler Online Departure Form before exiting Nepal.
Mandatory travel declaration form
Travelers must complete the Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) before departure to Australia.
Travelers can start the DPD 7 days before departure to add their trip details.
When completing the DPD, travelers are required to provide their contact and passport details, travel history, and vaccination status, and declare they are aware of quarantine requirements that may apply when traveling to Australia.
Each traveler is required to complete a DPD. Parents or guardians should complete a declaration for any traveler under the age of 16 years. Travelers aged 16 years and over should complete their own declaration.

Mandatory proof of vaccination for Australia
Fully vaccinated travelers going to Australia must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination that meets Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) requirements. All required doses must have been received at least 7 days before travel. Mixed doses count towards being fully vaccinated as long as all vaccines are approved or recognized by the TGA.
Vaccines accepted are AstraZeneca Vaxzevria and Covishield, Pfizer/BioNTech Comirnaty, Moderna Spikevax, Moderna Takeda, Sinovac Coronavac, Bharat Biotech Covaxin, Janssen-Cilag COVID Vaccine, Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV, Gamaleya Research Institute Sputnik V, and Novavax/Biocelect Nuvaxovid.
Travelers vaccinated in Australia may obtain an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) online.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 12 years;
- Travelers with medical exemptions.

While There
Masks are mandatory on public transportation
Travelers are required to wear masks on public transport.
It is recommended to wear masks in crowded areas where it is difficult to maintain a 1.5 meters physical distance from others.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 12.
