Description

Selected countries are on the United Kingdoms Amber list. Travelers from selected countries that are Amber listed who do not have a travel history in selected countries that are Red listed during the 10 days prior to their arrival are allowed to enter the United Kingdom. Please check the documentation, quarantine and/or testing requirements for your specific destination before traveling.

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results

Description

Travelers must have a valid negative COVID-19 (NAAT: PCR or LAMP, or antigen) test result in English, French, or Spanish. The test must be taken a maximum of 3 days before departure of the last direct flight to the United Kingdom. The antigen test should meet at least 97% specificity and 80% sensitivity.

This requirement applies to all travelers including United Kingdom citizens, residents, and all transit passengers.

More Details

Travelers exempted from this restriction are:

  • Travelers from the Common Travel Area (the United Kingdom, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey), Ascension, Falkland Islands, St Helena, Myanmar;
  • Travelers to the UK for urgent medical treatment or with a documented medical condition that means they can not take the test;
  • Travelers under the age of 11.

Description

Travelers may prove vaccination using one of the below methods:

  • Vaccination certificate issued by NHS;
  • Vaccination certificates issued in EU countries or Switzerland with vaccines approved by the EMA;
  • Vaccination certificates issued in the USA with vaccines approved by the FDA.

Additionally, travelers from the USA must show proof of USA residencies, such as a USA passport, visa, or Green Card.

Travelers who cannot present a vaccination certificate under this criteria must follow the testing and quarantine rules for unvaccinated travelers. Travelers are considered fully vaccinated if they have had the final dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before the arrival date in the UK.

Description

Selected countries are on the amber list. Most travelers from selected countries that are amber-listed countries must take 2 COVID-19 tests after their arrival in the UK. Vaccinated travelers must book a travel test package prior to travel to be tested on or before day 2 of quarantine.

More Details

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers aged 10 years and younger;
  • Travelers from the CTA (Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Ireland, Channel Islands) and who have been there in the past 10 days;
  • Travelers with a medical condition that means you cannot take a test – they must present a note from a medical practitioner at check-in and to Border Force staff on arrival in England.
