The following information is applicable to people who are fully vaccinated and traveling from the United States to Slovakia.View restrictions for unvaccinated travelers
Governments are changing their policies rapidly in response to the Omicron variant. We recommend checking in regularly and verifying requirements with the linked sources before making travel plans.
Travel is allowed with restrictions
Travelers who are citizens with temporary or permanent residence in selected countries are allowed to enter Slovakia. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.
Transit is allowed with restrictions
Travelers can transit through Slovakia. Travelers must transit for a maximum of 8 hours, fill the passenger locator form before they travel, and stay in the airport.
Before You Leave
No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required
Travelers arriving from selected countries are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to Slovakia.
Mandatory proof of vaccination
Vaccinated travelers must present a vaccination certificate with one of the following options:
- It has passed at least 14 days after the administration of the second dose of a 2-dose COVID-19 vaccine;
- It has passed at least 21 days after the administration of the first dose of a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine;
- It has passed at least 14 days after the administration of the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine if the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination was given a maximum of 180 days of overcoming COVID-19.
Fully vaccinated travelers must be able to show a certificate proving their vaccination status in Slovak, Czech or English. The vaccination certificate must include a stamp of the national authority or be electronically verifiable.
Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof.
Mandatory passenger locator form
All travelers arriving by air, including those in transit, must fill the Passenger Locator form before traveling to Slovakia.
Mandatory pre-registration form
Travelers must fill a pre-registration form before traveling to Slovakia.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 12 years and 2 months.
No quarantine required for vaccinated travelers
Vaccinated travelers with valid proof of vaccination are not required to quarantine on arrival in Slovakia.
Health pass may be required for transportation
Travelers are required to have proof of vaccination, recovery, or negative COVID-19 test result to use some long-distance buses and trains.

Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers aged 6 years and older must wear masks in indoor public places, on public transport, and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible.
