Proof of negative COVID-19 test results

Description

Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 swab test result. Travelers must take an antigen test within 48 hours before arrival or a PCR, LAMP, or TMA test within 72 hours before arrival.

Rapid antigen swab tests are recognized if they meet the minimum criteria recommended by the WHO with at least 80% sensitivity and 97% specificity.

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers under the age of 6;
  • Travelers entering by land may be exempted, please check the source for more details;
  • Travelers with valid proof of being fully vaccinated and who didn't previously stay in a virus variant area;
  • Travelers with a valid certificate of recovery from COVID-19 and who didn't previously stay in a virus variant area.

Description

Vaccinated travelers must present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 via vaccination booklet in written or digital form. It must be in German, English, French, Italian, or Spanish. Travelers must have received the number of doses necessary for full protection, with the last dose no less than 14 days before the travel date. Germany accepts the following vaccinations: Pfizer/Comirnaty, Johnson & Johnson/Janssen, Moderna, AstraZeneca

Travelers from selected countries who do not present a valid negative test result, valid proof of vaccination, or valid proof of recovery within 48 hours of their arrival in Germany must quarantine at home for 10 days or until they submit their proof to the digital entry registration.
