Mandatory proof of vaccination

Description

Fully vaccinated travelers must upload official proof of vaccination status (national vaccination card) in EHAS.

Travelers are considered to be fully vaccinated if it has passed 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca, Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Covishield vaccines, or 4 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine.

The approved vaccines are Comirnaty (Pfizer), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (Astrazeneca), Johnson & Johnson (Janssen), Covishield (Astrazeneca), Sinopharm, and Sinovac (CoronaVac).

Description

Travelers including citizens, residents, and transit travelers are required to complete health authorization applications through the Electronic Health Authorization System in order to enter Sint Maarten and St. Martin through Princess Juliana International Airport.

Travelers are encouraged to complete the application as soon as they receive their COVID-19 RT-PCR test results. Once completed and approved travelers will receive a printable authorization by email.

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results

Description

Travelers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport (Sint Maarten) who have been in selected countries in the last 14 days must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR or antigen test obtained from a nasopharyngeal swab test result. The test result has to be uploaded as part of the EHAS application procedure. A COVID-19 RT-PCR test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure of the last leg of the flight to Sint Maarten. This applies to travelers in transit.

Vaccinated travelers who are residents in Sint Maarten, Saint Martin, St. Eustatius, and Saba have the option to present a COVID-19 antigen test taken a maximum of 48 hours before the last leg of departure.

This testing requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers under the age of 10.

The test result should clearly specify the name of the laboratory, test subject name, test date, type of test administered, and how the test sample was obtained.

The following will not be accepted:

  • Saliva antigen test and pooling samples;
  • Home covid-19 collection test kits;
  • Hand-written or e-mail statements from doctors.
