Entry restrictions do not apply to:

  • Norwegian citizens;
  • Travelers with a certification of vaccination or recovery that is valid in Norway;
  • Citizens of an EU/EEA/Schengen country or the UK;
  • Foreign nationals who reside in a ‘green’ country or area in the EEA/Schengen area or in the UK;
  • Permanent residents;
  • Close family members of persons residing in Norway, i.e. spouses/registered partners/cohabitants, minor children or stepchildren, parents or stepparents of minor children or stepchildren.

Description

Travelers, including citizens, are required to complete a trip registration form a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Norway.

More Details

Travelers must be able to provide a confirmation of a suitable place to stay during the mandatory quarantine period. If they have been exempt from quarantine (both work and leisure time), they only need to register their personal data and tick the appropriate boxes.

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers that have been fully vaccinated and have a vaccine certificate recognized by the Norwegian authorities;
  • Travelers who can document that they have undergone COVID-19 during the last 6 months;
  • Travelers under the age of 16 traveling with a registered guardian.

Mandatory proof of vaccination

Description

Fully vaccinated travelers must carry proof that meets the outlined criteria. Travelers who cannot show proof using one of the indicated methods are not considered fully vaccinated by Norway.

Travelers are considered to be fully vaccinated if 1 week has passed since they received the second vaccine dose or if 3 weeks have passed since they received their single-dose vaccine.

Vaccines need to be approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Currently, certificates (Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, or EU digital COVID-19 certificate) with a QR code can be verified by Norwegian authorities.

Travelers who can present English and Welsh NHS COVID Pass, Northern Ireland, and Scottish COVID-19 vaccine certificates will be allowed to enter Norway.

Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof.
