Entry into Canada From Mexico is Allowed with Additional Requirements

Description

Fully vaccinated travelers who have completed the full course of vaccination with a Government of Canada-accepted vaccine at least 14 days before arrival in Canada are allowed to enter Canada.

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results

Description

Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 molecular test (PCR, RT-PCR, NAAT, LAMP) result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before the departure of their last direct flight to Canada.

Antigen tests are not accepted.

Travelers arriving via land border must provide a test taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Canada.

More Details

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers under the age of 5;
  • Travelers connecting to other international destinations;
  • Travelers who have previously tested positive for COVID-19, however, must provide proof of a positive COVID-19 molecular test taken between 14 and 180 days prior to departure;
  • Crew members;
  • Essential services;
  • Emergency services;
  • National security or interest;
  • Special exemptions.

Mandatory health declaration form before exiting Mexico

Description

Travelers must fill out a health questionnaire form before departing from Mexico. They can fill out an electronic form or a paper form.

The paper form can be found in the international arrivals area at the airport. For the electronic form, travelers must create an account on the Vuela Seguro Mexico website a maximum of 12 hours before their flight and keep the QR code from the online form and present it to authorities before departure.
