Description

Travelers are allowed to enter India. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.

Travel to India for tourism and other short-term purposes will resume fully for travelers holding tourist or e-tourist visas issued on or after October 6th, 2021.

Tourist visas issued before October 6th, 2021 will not be accepted and travelers attempting to enter India using one of these visas are likely to be detained and returned to their point of origin.

For interstate traveling, travelers should inform themselves before the planned trip about the requirements. Some states require either proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a COVID-19 negative test result and/or testing on arrival if entering from other Indian states. Additional quarantine may be necessary, depending on the state of origin.

The test result should be submitted through the Air Suvidha portal.

Description

Travelers are required to complete an Air Suvidha self-declaration form a maximum of 72 hours before departing to India. They must upload their negative test results and a declaration of test results authenticity. This form can be completed online and travelers will receive an updated application document via email. They are required to show this document to immigration on arrival in India.

Travelers can apply for an exemption from presenting a negative test result only in case of death in the family and they must apply in the portal at least 72 hours before boarding.

Description

Some Indian states require either proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a current negative test result and/or testing on arrival if entering from other Indian states.

Travelers must have a valid vaccination certificate showing it has passed at least 15 days since the completion of the COVID-19 vaccination schedule.

Travelers from a country outside of India and that have made an agreement with the Indian government to accept foreign vaccination certificates may provide a vaccination certificate issued in those countries. Currently, vaccination certificates are also accepted from these countries:

Description

Travelers whose test on arrival is negative are required to self-quarantine for 7 days. On day 8 they must be tested again and if the result is negative they can end quarantine and must monitor their health for a further 7 days. Travelers are required to upload the results of the day 8 COVID-19 RT-PCR test to the Air Suvidha portal.

Travelers who test positive to the COVID-19 test on arrival will be isolated in an institutional facility.
