The following information is applicable to people who are fully vaccinated and traveling from Malta to Slovenia.View restrictions for unvaccinated travelers
Governments are changing their policies rapidly in response to the Omicron variant. We recommend checking in regularly and verifying requirements with the linked sources before making travel plans.
Travel is allowed with restrictions
Travelers are allowed to enter Slovenia. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.
Transit is allowed
Travelers are allowed to transit without the need to present proof of COVID-19 status (RVT rule) as long as they leave the country within 12 hours.
They must also have a document with the purpose of transit and destination (this is not required for travelers with a permanent or temporary residence in EU member states).
Transit restrictions do not apply to:
- Travelers who are under quarantine orders by other EU states and travel in their own transportation, transiting through Slovenia for a maximum of 6 hours. For more details and exemptions, please see the source.
Before You Leave
No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to Slovenia.
Recommended travel declaration form before arrival
Travelers transiting or entering Slovenia can fill out a travel declaration form to facilitate and speed up the control when traveling to Slovenia.
Mandatory proof of vaccination
Travelers who are fully vaccinated must have a vaccination certificate proving they have received all doses required before traveling to Slovenia.
Travelers are considered fully vaccinated if they received the second dose of one of the following:
- Comirnaty vaccine produced by Biotech/Pfizer;
- Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine produced by Moderna;
- Sputnik V vaccine produced by Russia’s Gamaleya National Centre of Epidemiology and Microbiology;
- CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac Biotech;
- COVID-19 vaccine produced by Sinopharm;
- Vaxzevria COVID-19 vaccine produced by AstraZeneca;
- Covishield produced by the Serum Institute of India;
- Covaxin vaccine produced by Bharat Biotech;
- A combination of 2 previously listed vaccines.
Janssen COVID-19 vaccine produced by Johnson and Johnson is also accepted. Proof of vaccination is obtained as of the day of vaccination.
Travelers are considered to have fulfilled the recovered/vaccinated/tested rule if they provide proof that at least 21 days have elapsed since receiving the first dose of the Vaxzevria COVID-19 vaccine produced by AstraZeneca or the Covishield vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India/AstraZeneca.
Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof.

Mandatory passenger locator form
All travelers are required to complete a Passenger Locator Form after check-in and before departure to Slovenia.
Travelers in the transit area of the international airport are not required to complete a Passenger Locator Form.
No quarantine required
Travelers who provide valid proof of a negative COVID-19 test result, proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 are not required to quarantine on arrival in Slovenia.
Travelers who do not meet these requirements will be required to quarantine at home for 7 days.

Mandatory health pass for public activity
Travelers should expect to be asked to show evidence of a health pass before accessing all businesses, establishments, or services, including when seated outdoors. The health pass consists of one of the following:
- Proof of vaccination;
- Proof of a negative COVID-19 test;
- Proof of recovery from COVID-19 in the last 180 days.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 12.
While You're There
Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers must wear masks in enclosed public places, public transport, and outdoors where a distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 6.
