Travel is allowed with restrictions
Travelers are allowed to enter Hungary. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.
Transit is allowed for specified routes
Travelers transiting through Hungary must undergo a medical examination at the border and show no symptoms of COVID-19. Travelers are required to prove what their destination is, the reason they are traveling, and that they are able to transit to their final destination.
For transit by land, travelers can only use specified routes, dedicated petrol and rest stations, and specific border crossing points.
Before You Leave
No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for vaccinated travelers
Vaccinated travelers from selected countries are not required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to Hungary.
Mandatory proof of vaccination
Vaccinated travelers must have proof that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 on at least 1 occasion and that 1 year has not passed since the first vaccination with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency, World Health Organization for emergency use, or with a vaccine allowed in Hungary.
Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof.
Travelers from a country outside of the EU and that have made an agreement with the Hungarian government to accept foreign vaccination certificates may provide a vaccination certificate issued in those countries. Currently, vaccination certificates are also accepted from these countries: Albania, Bahrain, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, North Macedonia, Georgia, Croatia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Morocco, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Romania, San Marino, Seychelles, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Cape Verde.
The US CDC card is not accepted as proof of vaccination. UK's NHS certificate is accepted as proof of vaccination. A printed PDF proof of vaccination must date from November 1st, 2021, to ensure that the certificate can be scanned successfully.

No quarantine required
Travelers are not required to quarantine on arrival in Hungary.
