Travelers who are residents in selected countries are allowed to enter Spain, provided that they come directly from them, have transited exclusively through other countries included in the list, or have carried out only international transits in airports located in countries that do not appear in the list.

Mandatory proof of vaccination

Description

Travelers must present a certificate showing they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Travelers must have received their last dose at least 14 days before travel. Vaccines accepted are those approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and by the WHO.

Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof. The United Kingdom’s COVID-19 vaccination record is also accepted.

Mandatory proof of vaccination for entry into the Canary Islands from Spain for vaccinated travelers

From December 1st until at least December 15th, 2021, vaccinated travelers going from Spain to the Canary Islands are required to show valid proof of vaccination.

Travelers who recovered from COVID-19 must have a certificate of recovery emitted at least 11 days after testing positive in a NAAT test. The certificate is valid up to 180 days have passed since the test was taken. The certificate must be in Spanish and it must have the traveler's name, date of sample collection, type of test performed, and the issuing country.

Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof.

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers under 12 years and 3 months old;
  • Travelers in transit via port or airport;
  • Unvaccinated travelers must show valid proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

Travelers with exceptional reasons for not being able to get tested pre-travel may get tested on arrival and must quarantine for 10 days.
