Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Panama.

Travelers arriving without a negative test or without a valid negative test must also take a COVID-19 test at the airport on arrival, at their own cost.

Travelers from selected countries who do not have a travel history in the United Kingdom, South Africa, South America, or India in the 15 days prior to their arrival and who arrive without a COVID-19 test result must take a COVID-19 test on arrival. If the results are positive, travelers must quarantine on arrival. If results are negative, travelers do not need to quarantine.

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Panamanian citizens and residents who provide proof of negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test for a maximum of 48 hours before arrival in Panama;
  • Panamanian citizens and residents who provide valid proof of vaccination. These documents must be presented in physical or digital form.
