Description

Travelers from selected countries who do not have a travel history in selected countries during the 14 days prior to their arrival are allowed to enter the United States.

More Details

Entry restrictions do not apply to:

  • American citizens;
  • Legal permanent residents;
  • Certain family members of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents including; spouses, children (under the age of 21), parents (provided that his/her U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident child is unmarried and under the age of 21), and siblings (provided that both the sibling and the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident are unmarried and under the age of 21);

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results

Description

Travelers must have an original printed or electronic negative COVID-19 viral test result (NAAT: RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, TMA, NEAR, HDA, or Antigen: Rapid). The test must be performed a maximum of 3 days before the first scheduled departure time in the flight itinerary.

This requirement applies to all travelers, including US citizens, residents, and transit travelers, as well as travelers who have been vaccinated.

Travelers may use a self-test (sometimes referred to as a home test) that meets the given criteria.

More Details

This requirement does not apply to:

  • Travelers under the age of 2;
  • Travelers who have recovered from COVID-19. These travelers must show proof of a positive viral test from the preceding 90 days and a letter from their healthcare provider or public health official stating they are cleared to end isolation. Please see the source for more details.

International travelers who wish to transit through United States must apply for authorization. You must get an ESTA before your flight. An ESTA is delivered electronically, and is tied directly to your passport. Apply online at least 72 hours before travelling to United States.

You do not need an ESTA if you are an American Citizen or already have a valid ESTA or another US Visa.
