Travel is allowed with restrictions
Most international travelers are allowed to enter Namibia by air. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.
Most land borders are closed for tourism purposes (Katima Mulilo, Ariamsvlei, and Noordoewer border posts and Walvis Bay Harbour are open for tourism by land and sea).
Before You Leave
Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results
International travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken from a Trusted Travel accredited laboratory or verified on the Global Haven system. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Travelers under the age of 5;
- Namibian citizens and permit holders, who may enter the country without test results, but will be required to quarantine at their own cost. Some airlines may require test results regardless of this exemption. Please check with your airline directly if you fit into this category and seek exemption.
- A Pcr Test Up To 72 hours Before Arrival
Mandatory surveillance form
Travelers are required to complete the COVID-19 surveillance form before departure to Namibia.
Mandatory health declaration form
Travelers are required to fill out a health questionnaire before departure to Namibia.
Accommodation booking may be required
Travelers may be required to present documentation with a full travel itinerary, including proof of accommodation booking on-demand, to authorized officials on arrival in Namibia.
Mandatory travel insurance
International travelers are required to have valid travel health insurance with COVID-19 coverage.
COVID-19 test may be required on arrival
Travelers may be required to be tested for COVID-19 at their own cost on arrival if they arrive with test results older than 72 hours before arrival due to delayed flights or boarding.
Travelers may also be required to be tested for COVID-19 at their own cost on arrival if they present symptoms.
Quarantine may be required
Travelers who arrive with COVID-19 test results older than 72 hours before arrival due to delayed flights or boarding, or who arrive without COVID-19 test results, must test on arrival and quarantine until they receive negative test results.
Travelers with valid test results are not required to quarantine on arrival.
Health screening on arrival
All travelers are subject to health screening on arrival in Namibia.
