Travel is allowed with restrictions
Travelers are allowed to enter Panama.
Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.
Transit is allowed
Travelers are allowed to transit through Panama.
Travelers in transit are required to:
- Have a confirmed onward flight;
- Stay in the transit area at the airport.
Before You Leave
No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to Panama.
Effective January 28th, 2022, the definition of fully vaccinated according to Panama will change. Travelers are encouraged to review ‘Mandatory proof of vaccination’ for further details.
Mandatory pre-registration form before exiting Colombia
All travelers are required to fill out a pre-registration form before they depart from Colombia. It must be filled at least 1 hour, up to 72 hours before departure.
Travelers will be required to show confirmation of registration before boarding.
Recommended health insurance
Travelers are recommended to have health insurance with COVID-19 coverage before arrival in Panama.
Mandatory proof of vaccination
Fully vaccinated travelers must present a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate on arrival, showing at least 14 days have passed since they received the last dose. Vaccines must be approved by the WHO, EMA, or FDA.
Effective January 28th, 2022, travelers will be required to present proof of having received 3 doses to be considered fully vaccinated, with the exception of travelers vaccinated with Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) for which 2 doses will be accepted. Travelers who do not meet this requirement will be considered partially vaccinated and must follow the rules for partially vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers.
Mandatory health declaration form
All travelers are required to complete an Electronic Affidavit (sworn statement) before boarding their flight to Panama. After filling up the document, travelers will receive a QR code that must be shown on their smartphones.
No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for transit
Travelers with flight connections in Panama are exempt from the COVID-19 test requirement as long as they remain in the international departure area.
Travelers may need to present proof indicating they are allowed to enter their destination country.
No quarantine required
Travelers from selected countries who do not have a travel history in selected countries in the 15 days before arrival are not required to quarantine on arrival in Panama.
Health screening on arrival
Temperature screening is required for all travelers on arrival in Panama.
