Entry restricted for international travelers
At this time, only travelers with valid visas can enter South Korea. International travelers are required to apply for a visa in advance at an embassy in order to travel to South Korea.
All valid short-term visas issued on or before April 5th, 2020, are temporarily suspended.
Visa-free entry and visa-waiver programs have been temporarily suspended for nationals of countries imposing entry bans on Koreans.
Transit is allowed
Most travelers transiting through Korean airports (who do not pass through immigration) have no COVID-19 testing or quarantine requirement for stays less than 24 hours. However, transit travelers may need to undergo temperature checks or fill out health questionnaires.
Transit travelers will receive a temperature check on arrival in Korea. Symptomatic individuals will be subject to a COVID-19 test and hospitalization if found positive. Travelers who do not show symptoms and/or test negative may continue their journey.
