Travel is allowed with restrictions
Travelers are allowed to enter Sint Maarten. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.

Before You Leave
Proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results may be required for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers who have received a booster dose within the last 9 months arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport (Sint Maarten) are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before arrival.
Vaccinated travelers without a booster dose arriving in Sint Maarten or Saint Martin through Princess Juliana International Airport must have a negative COVID-19 test result.
The result must be obtained from a COVID-19 PCR test taken at a maximum of 48 hours before departure, or an antigen test taken at a maximum of 24 hours before departure. The test result has to be uploaded as part of the EHAS application procedure. This applies to travelers in transit.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Vaccinated travelers aged between 5-18 years, who do not require a COVID-19 test;
- Unvaccinated travelers, who require an RT-PCR test 48 hours before departure.
The test result should clearly specify the name of the laboratory, test subject name, test date, type of test administered, and how the test sample was obtained.
RT-PCR and antigen test samples must be obtained through a nasopharyngeal swab in adolescents and adults. An oro-pharyngeal swab is accepted for children.

Mandatory travel authorization form
Travelers including citizens, residents, and transit travelers are required to complete health authorization applications through the Electronic Health Authorization System in order to enter Sint Maarten and St. Martin through Princess Juliana International Airport.
Travelers are encouraged to complete the application as soon as they receive their COVID-19 RT-PCR test results. Once completed and approved travelers will receive a printable authorization by email.
Processing of this application can take up to 12 hours.
Mandatory health insurance
Travelers are required to have health insurance coverage that is valid in St. Maarten. This does not apply to travelers in transit, residents, flight crews, AUC faculty and students, BES-ZVK medical referrals, and French nationals.
The insurance purchasing process is an integrated step in the EHAS application.
This requirement does not apply to:
- Transit passengers;
- French nationals residing in France or a French territory.
Mandatory proof of vaccination
Fully vaccinated travelers must upload official proof of vaccination status (national vaccination card) in EHAS.
Fully vaccinated travelers must have proof of vaccination showing that it has passed:
- 2 weeks after the second dose for Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca or;
- 2 weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson or;
- 2 weeks after the second dose in a 2-dose series combination of a single dose Pfizer or Moderna with a single dose Astra Zeneca or;
- 2 weeks after the single dose is administered to travelers who have already had COVID-19.
Travelers are also considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving a single dose of vaccine, presented with proof of recovery from COVID-19.
A combination of 1 dose of Pfizer or Moderna with 1 dose of Astra Zeneca is accepted.
The approved vaccines are Comirnaty (Pfizer), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (Astrazeneca), Johnson & Johnson (Janssen), Covishield (Astrazeneca), Sinopharm, and Sinovac (CoronaVac).

Quarantine may be required
All incoming passengers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport (Sint Maarten) are subjected to temperature checks and other screening protocols and may be subjected to mandatory testing at their own expense. If re-tested upon arrival, travelers will be expected to self-quarantine at their place of lodging or residence until the test results are known.
Travelers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport (Sint Maarten) from selected countries are required to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 5 days. Travelers will receive a daily email alert providing a link for submitting the required information online.
Travelers will receive an automated daily email alert providing a link for submitting the required information online during the first 5 days of their stay. Travelers remaining for a shorter time on the island will have to submit the information for the time of their stay on the island.
