Proof of negative COVID-19 test results

Description

Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 (RT-PCR, LAMP, TMA, TRC, Smart Amp, NEAR, or CLEIA) test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure.

This includes Japanese nationals, Business Track, and Residence Track travelers too.

Qualitative antigen tests are not accepted. Please check the source to verify the valid format for the certificate of negative results.

The test results must have a name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, gender, test method, test result, sample collection date and time, test result determination date, test certificate issuance date, medical institution name, address, medical institution imprint or signature in English.

The Government of Japan has declared a 'State of Emergency' in the Tokyo Metropolis and 18 other Prefectures. In these areas, everybody is requested to stay at home unless necessary from 8 pm. A further 8 prefectures are under 'priority preventative measures' due to a heightened outbreak risk.
